Create an account

Create an alterac.ai account, confirm your email, then log in to set up your authenticator, save recovery codes, and finish your profile before entering the app. This usually takes a few minutes if you have an authenticator app available.

Choose Start free (external site) from Home or Pricing to begin. Individual access is free for one person per organization, with all features, no trial expiry, and no credit card required. After account setup, create your own organization and project; you can create as many organizations as you like, each with one free license. Any coding-agent subscription or usage costs are separate. Use an email inbox you can access and an authenticator app that can generate six-digit codes. Choose a private place to store recovery codes when they are shown.

Account creation requires explicit agreement to the current Privacy Policy (external site) and Terms of Use (external site). Both documents are public and show their version and effective date. At signup, use the links in the agreement text. Links are also available in the public site footer, at the bottom of Docs pages, and on other account access pages. alterac.ai records the exact versions, document content identifiers, and the time of agreement.

1. Open Sign up and enter your email, password, and confirmation.
2. Use at least 8 characters with uppercase, lowercase, a digit, and a symbol for your password.
3. Open the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy links in the agreement label. The links open the exact documents in new tabs, where you can read their versions and effective dates. Select I agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. The checkbox starts unchecked.
4. Select Get started. alterac.ai opens Check your email.
5. Open the confirmation link in the email from alterac.ai. The confirmation page tells you when your email is confirmed.
6. Select Continue to log in on the confirmation page and enter your email and password.

Signup previews these steps before you submit. Confirming your email does not log you in or finish account setup. Your first successful login leads to Set up two-factor so you can connect an authenticator before entering the app.

If a document changes before registration, signup refreshes both documents and clears the agreement checkbox. Your entered account details stay on the page. Read the refreshed versions and choose again. A version-specific link that has become outdated tells you the document changed rather than showing a different version under the original link.

If loading the current documents fails or takes too long, signup shows an unavailable message and account creation stays disabled. Check your connection and select Try again to reload both documents. Your email, password, and confirmation stay on the page. After recovery, open the document links and select the unchecked agreement before choosing Get started. An unavailable document page never substitutes older or abbreviated text. Missing agreement or agreement to an older document cannot create a usable account. Existing users can continue to log in. If the message does not arrive, return to the verification page, confirm the email address, and select Resend email. If a confirmation link no longer works, request a fresh email and use the newest link.

If alterac.ai asks you to wait before trying again, your entered information stays on the page. Wait until the action becomes available, then submit once. The same retry guidance appears whether or not an address is already connected to an account; only a message arriving in that inbox confirms that email was sent.

The production website uses Google Analytics with Google’s default measurement events across its pages, including Docs, account, app and legal pages. There is no analytics consent control. Measurement is disabled when an account link or referring URL contains an email address, reset code or confirmation identifier, and stays disabled for the remainder of that page session. Measurement can include page URLs and query strings, referrers, campaign parameters and Docs search text. Read the Privacy Policy (external site) for analytics and storage details. Your required signup agreement is separate from website measurement.

After your first login, Set up two-factor shows Required account setup. This is the next step in creating your account. Connect an authenticator app here before using its codes to log in on later visits.

Two-factor authentication is required for every account from the start. It adds a step during sign-up, but it gives every account stronger protection from the beginning.

1. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
2. If scanning is unavailable, use the manual setup key shown on the page. It represents the same secret as the QR code, so keep it private.
3. Enter the six-digit code from the app and select Verify and continue.
4. Save the recovery codes shown next. You must acknowledge that you saved them before continuing.

If setup cannot load, select Retry. If an error appears after you save and acknowledge your recovery codes, keep them safe and select Continue again to check the next step.

The app then asks you to finish your profile with your required display name. Add it and select Save profile to enter alterac.ai. You can update your profile later from account settings.

Recovery codes are one-time backup codes for when you cannot use your authenticator app. Copy or download them only to a private location you control, such as a password manager or secure offline storage. Do not send them in chat, email, or a task comment.

Your account is ready after email confirmation, authenticator setup, recovery-code acknowledgement, and profile completion. Saving your profile opens Organizations. Account creation does not create an organization or project, and you do not need an invitation to start on your own.

1. In Organizations, select Create organization, or open an organization you already have access to. To join an existing team, ask an organization owner or admin to add you.
2. Open your organization and select Create project, or choose an accessible project. If you cannot create a project or see the one you need, ask an organization owner, admin, or project lead for project access.
3. With your project open, continue to Complete your first task for local repository setup.
