Release notes for v1.4.0

One-command CLI installs, timely update warnings, and first-pass task acceptance reporting in alterac.ai v1.4.0.

Highlights

You can now install or upgrade the alterac.ai CLI with one command. Project Metrics also shows how often completed tasks were accepted without a follow-up round.

What changed

  • Install or upgrade the CLI with a macOS, Linux, WSL, PowerShell, or Command Prompt command. The installer verifies the selected download, installs it in your user folder, and can install an exact published version. The install guide explains PATH setup, and manual downloads remain available.
  • When a newer CLI release is available, the first eligible command can show the installed and available versions with a link to the update steps before it runs. The command still runs normally; the CLI does not update itself. Outdated repository guidance has its own separate warning.
  • Project Metrics now includes Accepted without follow-up, with an accepted-task percentage, known-review-history count, unknown-history count, and trend. It covers both Coding-agent and Person tasks and is a delivery observation, not an AI performance score.
  • The project-home Working summary and Tasks list have less explanatory text, leaving more room for the current work.

Important information

The macOS and Windows CLI binaries remain unsigned. Linux installs require glibc; musl systems such as Alpine are unsupported. Windows Arm64 uses the Windows x64 CLI through emulation in a 64-bit PowerShell process. See the installation guide for the supported systems and security prompts.
