Use recovery codes
Store, use, and replace one-time recovery codes for safe backup account access.
Recovery codes are one-time backup codes for signing in when your authenticator app is unavailable. They are not passwords and they cannot be reused.
After setting up or replacing an authenticator, alterac.ai shows a new set of recovery codes once. Use Copy recovery codes or Download recovery codes, then keep them privately in a password manager or secure offline location. Do not save them in a shared document, email them, or include them in a task.
- Start at Log in and enter your email and password.
- On the authenticator screen, select Use recovery code.
- Enter one saved code.
The code is consumed after a successful sign-in. If alterac.ai warns that one or no codes remain, generate a new set immediately.
Open Account settings, find Recovery codes, and select Regenerate codes. Confirm your current password and either an authenticator code or recovery code, then save the new codes. Generating new codes makes every old recovery code stop working.
If all codes have been used and you cannot access your authenticator, follow Fix account access.
