Reset a password

Request a password-reset email, set a new password, and recover when a reset link does not work.

Reset your password from the login page when you cannot sign in. Resetting a password does not log you in automatically.

  1. Open Reset your password.
  2. Enter the email address for your account and select Send reset link.
  3. On Check your email, open the reset link from your inbox.
  4. Enter and confirm a new password. Use at least 8 characters with uppercase, lowercase, a digit, and a symbol.
  5. Select Update password, then return to Log in.

If the email did not arrive, use Send again from the check-email page. Check that you entered the same email you use for alterac.ai.

If alterac.ai asks you to wait before trying again, the page keeps the email you entered and temporarily disables the send action. Wait until it becomes available, then submit once. Password-reset requests use the same response whether or not the address has an account, so check the inbox rather than repeating the request to test an address.

If the reset link is rejected or expired, request a new reset email and open the newest link. The reset page needs the secure information in that link, so do not copy it to someone else or try to type a code from memory.

If you cannot access the email inbox, a password reset cannot prove account ownership. Restore access to that inbox first, then request a new reset link. For authenticator or recovery-code problems after resetting your password, see Fix account access.
